RG Williams (Ralph Griff to the taxman, Griff to everyone else) is an aspiring writer with a head full of dreams, a laptop full of stories and a wardrobe full of coats. He currently lives in Edinburgh, where he studies Law, volunteers as a tutor’s aide at a creative writing class and gets rained on. A lot.
Griff has been writing since he was eleven. His earlier works include Wolfsblade, an epic triology of books charting the rise to power of a werewolf prince, and an untitled sci-fi story where humans attempt to reclaim the Earth from their savage brethren after fleeing to the Moon. Both have since been sealed in impenetrable vaults, never again to see the light of day.
After a decade of practice that includes writing for both the School Journal and Student Newspaper, attending the St Andrews International Creative Writing Summer School and establishing Littlerature, a short-story website for the Twitter generation, Griff finally has the opportunity to cry havoc and let slip the dogs of writing. His genre of choice is fantasy: from the cradle he was raised on a diet of Tolkein and Beowulf, and his bookshelf is currently so full of Abnett, Howard, Reeve and Nix that his textbooks are seeking political asylum on his floor.
His latest project, Crescent Knife, is currently in the early stages of planning. He’ll be using this site to post weekly musings on the craft of fantasy writing gleaned from this project, along with miscellaneous other short stories and random musings.
Griff also drinks far less tea than he should, and has an annoying habit of talking about himself in the third person.
